Summary
THE Scottish Executive has appointed consultancy firm Tribal HCH to conduct a study into whether the Scottish planning system is failing business. Critics of the planning system contend that decisions take too long, that the process involves too many uncertainties, gets easily bogged down in bureaucracy and lacks transparency. Other complaints have contended that local authorities do not understand the impact of their decisions on business.
It is hoped the findings of the study will be available at the end of March to inform the Scottish Planning Bill.See the full content of this document
