Prime Minister Tony Blair said yesterday he did not think England should tour Zimbabwe this autumn, but he insisted the government would not order them to boycott the visit.

Speaking on the eve of a meeting between Jack Straw, foreign secretary, Tessa Jowell, culture secretary, and David Morgan and Tim Lamb, chairman and chief executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board respectively, Mr Blair told MPs he would prefer the team not to go.
