CHILDREN in Edinburgh are bucking the national trend by choosing to eat fruit and vegetables rather than sugary and salty snacks.

Official figures published last year found Scottish children were among the fattest in the developed world. One in five 12-year-olds are clinically obese and one in three overweight, while one in five pre-school children are overweight.
