POLICE have issued a warning about a spate of "distraction" thefts after an elderly couple had all their Christmas savings stolen.

The 78-year-old man and his 75-year-old wife opened the door of their house in Balbardie, Bathgate, to a bogus workman who claimed he needed to check the property's water flow.
