A POLICE officer accused of raping three woman and sexually assaulting a further six went into the witness box yesterday to claim his innocence.

Former Royal Engineer Dean Stewart, 35, a constable with Strathclyde Police for eight years in North Ayrshire, told the High Court in Glasgow there was no truth in the accusations. Mr Stewart, from Paisley, who is married to a police officer, denies all the alleged offences, said to have been carried out over a six-year period.
