A Populus survey has put the Conservatives behind Labour for the first time since November 2007. It put Ed Miliband's Opposition up one point to 38% while the Tories dropped two to 37% and the Liberal Democrats gained one to reach 15%.

The lead is Labour's first in Populus research since shortly after then prime minister Gordon Brown halted plans for an early general election.
