THE home of Sir Walter Scott has been awarded [pounds]227,000 as part of a [pounds]3.4m grant-aid package announced yesterday for listed buildings.

The money for Abbotsford from Historic Scotland will go towards roof and chimney repairs at the mansion, by the River Tweed in the Borders, where classics such as Rob Roy and Ivanhoe were written.
