There are some pretty cool bits of technology out there to keep the streets safe for decent folk. Like the audio surveillance system called Sigard. Sigard uses sensitive microphones which can detect the sound of trouble brewing at 100 yards. It works by picking up the changes in dialogue that indicate violence is about to occur, such as a raised voice and change of tone.
The device is used widely in Holland and in some English cities. It has been tested in Glasgow. "We detected aggression," said Bram Kuipers of Sound Intelligence, the Dutch company which conducted the trial.See the full content of this document
