WHETHER or not the recent election in Iraq will prove to be an overall success I do not know, but no doubt before long the "Bush/ Blair" administration will tell us that the fact that it has taken place justifies them taking us to war - in spite of the loss of lives of the British and American soldiers, and the Iraqi civilians. When we hear that Mr Bush is not (at present) going to invade Iran can we have a (morally) honest promise that up till now Mr Blair has made no promise to go along with him in this venture?

More importantly, can we have an honest promise from Mr Blair that, if he wins the forthcoming general election, he will require the backing of the British public - with a referendum - and of the UN, before going into Iran? We must have this promise now!
