THE Scottish presence at Westminster will fall sharply after the May 5 election, with a new political map delivering only 59 MPs from north of the border, down from 72.
The change is a result of devolution, with the 1998 Scotland Act requiring that the disproportionately high Scottish representation be brought into line with England.
