THE rift over Scotland's controversial Beauly-Denny power line threatens to delay work by a further five years and undermine the country's green ambitions, industry figures have said.

A bitter row erupted over the weekend as the Sunday Herald revealed that ministers are ready to give their backing to the project and end the long-running debate over the new electricity cable, first mooted in 2002.
