THE spot from which John Constable painted his 1814-15 work The Stour Valley And Dedham Village has been pinpointed for the first time in almost 200 years.

Gradual changes to field boundaries meant the painting was one of a handful of the landscape artist's paintings where the exact location he stood while working on it remained unidentified.
