RICHIE RAMSAY'S golfing reputation was on the line last night after he refused to call a two-shot penalty on himself after suggestions he had improved the lie of his ball during the Celtic Manor Wales Open.

The 25-year-old Aberdonian was questioned by chief referee John Paramor and tournament director Mike Stewart for two hours on Saturday night after the incident at the eighth hole during the third round. He had been leading the tournament at the time over the Twenty Ten course that will host next year's Ryder Cup.
