CRAIG MOORE last night revealed he would welcome the appointment of Martin O'Neill as Newcastle United manager.

The former Rangers captain has finally overcome an injuryblighted start to his career at St James's Park. A serious double hamstring tear prevented him from appearing under Graeme Souness, who signed him last summer, but the Australian internationalist is excited by the genuine prospect of teaming up with the former Celtic manager, who is understood to be a leading candidate to succeed the caretaker coach, Glenn Roeder.
