MINISTERS are determined to resist free prescriptions for all in Scotland, claiming it would amount to a reversal of Robin Hood, taking from the poor to benefit the rich.

The Scottish Executive yesterday mounted a rearguard defence after the parliament's health committee gave qualified support to a bill from the Scottish Socialists abolishing prescription charges, as has already been done in Wales.
