WHAT is it with the Scots? I have just witnessed the rubbishing of both my town and my county in the national press and all in the same day (Is this Scotland's carbuncle capital? , October 6). To make matters worse, there is an element of truth in both instances.
No, Ardrossan is not the prettiest place in the world but Ardrossan is hardly unique in having its centre sacrificed to superstore culture. I am thoroughly depressed, however, at the thought of deprived areas lining up to take their turn each year for the amusement of a carbuncle of architects.
