G8 PROTESTS sparked a sales crash which cost retailers in Scotland's capital tens of millions of pounds, it was claimed yesterday.

Business leaders said turnover dropped by as much as 80% on the day of the Make Poverty History march in Edinburgh, and the city centre resembled "a ghost town".
