REUTERS, the news agency and financial information provider, yesterday faced criticism about its policies on executive rewards by a raft of small, independent shareholders attending its annual meeting.

The firm's remuneration policy was under the spotlight for the second consecutive year. Shareholders again registered a protest vote against it, and repeated concerns that Reuters was run solely for the benefit of its directors.
