Summary
It's probably not a stretch to assume that every band's worst nightmare is playing to an empty room. Unfortunately, this is a fate Glasgow quartet Fiction Faction were forced to stare down as they opened a quiet Tuesday night at King Tut's.
Beginning with thundering disco beats and charged up bass-lines that shook the speakers into life, they soon brought a few faces out of the woodwork. However, for every track of slick, rumbling momentum there were about two or three half-cocked efforts that sounded like an unfocused concoction of 1980s influences - drawing heavily from The Cure in particular - but sadly not nearly as direct or as affecting.See the full content of this document
