THE curriculum followed by Scottish children should in future move coherently through the various stages of education from the ages of three to 18, the Scottish Executive said yesterday.

Currently split into four "bits" - three-five; five-14; Standard grades; and National Qualifications, it has long been diagnosed as fragmented and cluttered.
