THE rift between Lloyds Banking Group and its charitable arm has deepened after the foundation for Scotland dismissed claims it had failed to enter into negotiations on a future financial settlement and accused the company of trying to use charitable funds to benefit the bank.

Mary Craig, Chief Executive of the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland, said there had been "ongoing contact" between the two parties to resolve the matter but that their "frequent attempts to secure a substantive reply, or a meeting, have been met with procrastination".
