THE Royal Bank of Scotland Group scooped the title of Scottish plc of the year in Glasgow last night, beating Robert Wiseman Dairies and Abbot Group.

Fred Goodwin, RBS chief executive, received the award from Jack McConnell, the first minister, in front of an audience of 400 of Scotland's business elite, at the annual Scotland plc awards at the Hilton Hotel, hosted by Scottish Business Insider and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
