MINISTERS have been warned it would be dangerous and irresponsible to follow the UK Government's lead in weakening regulation of adventure activities for young people in Scotland.

The Scottish Government yesterday launched a consultation after the UK Government announced plans to replace the statutory body that licenses commercial operators offering caving, climbing, trekking and watersports with a new voluntary code of practice.
