TWO Scots, one who lived under the threat of a public beheading for months, yesterday urged the Court of Appeal in London to grant them the right to pursue a civil action claim for substantial damages against their alleged torturers.

Ron Jones, originally from Hamilton, Lanarkshire, and Sandy Mitchell, from Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow, who was originally sentenced to death before being freed, joined an action with two others who claim that they were tortured into confessing they took part in terrorist bomb outrages in Saudi Arabia that killed two UK businessmen and blinded another four years ago.
