SCIENTISTS in Dundee have been awarded an GBP8m grant to try to find cures for tropical diseases which kill millions of the world's poorest people.

African sleeping sickness, Chagas' disease, and leishmaniasis are among the most neglected in the world and, because it is the poor they affect, they have attracted little or no interest from pharmaceutical companies.
