AS the world's greatest marathon runners buckled on the streets of London yesterday, the leading Scots walked off, heads held high, with ambition intensified after the best combined finish in the race's history: first British man and second woman.
Fifer Andrew Lemoncello and Leeds-based Glasgow runner Susan Partridge both qualified for the European Championship marathon in Barcelona. They confirm that they will accept selection, but this strikes a major blow at Scottish Commonwealth Games hopes for Delhi in October.
