'Scots Bases Used by Scores of Us Terror Flights'

MORE than 1000 flights linked to the CIA and the US's "murky system of captures, transfers and secret detention" of terror suspects have been recorded by human rights group Amnesty International.

In a 41-page report published today on so-called rendition flights, the organisation claims scores of flights have stopped at airports including Glasgow, Prestwick, Edinburgh and RAF Leuchars, as well as Manchester, Luton, Gatwick, Stansted and other RAF bases. Global locations include Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
