THE new general director of Scottish Opera was revealed yesterday and he said it was an "aspiration" for any opera company to have a full-time chorus.

Alex Reedijk, a New Zealander, will replace interim general director Richard Jarman in February. Mr Reedjik said Scottish Opera was a "rough diamond that needs some polishing".
