TWO towns in the west of Scotland saw the biggest recorded increase in average house prices in the UK over the past year.

Prices in Alexandria in West Dunbartonshire and Coatbridge in North Lanarkshire rose by an average rise of 35per cent. Both are within commuting distance of Glasgow.
