RESEARCHERS at a Scottish university are to help lead a major new initiative in sub Saharan Africa to try to prevent cardiovascular disease (CVD), which is estimated to claim at least one million lives a year in the region.

Aberdeen University is involved in tackling CVD, which includes heart disease and stroke and is the world's leading killer .
