SCOTTISHPOWER, the Glasgow-based energy group, yesterday revealed it signed another 250,000 electricity customers in the first quarter of this financial year, taking the total number for gas and electricity services to 4.5 million.
The company said pre-tax profits for the three months to June 30 fell to (pounds) 200m, down 2% on the first quarter of 2003 and below some analysts' expectations.
