THE QE2 is set to become a luxury floating hotel for fans at next year's World Cup after her owners confirmed speculation that she will set sail for South Africa.

The Clyde-built liner has had a troubled retirement since she was moored permanently in Dubai last year, as her owners Dubai World's plans to transform her into a floating hotel in the oil-rich state fell victim to the global downturn.
