TOMMY Sheridan, convener of the Scottish Socialists, and one of his parliamentary comrades have been forced to take out personal loans to bail out the party as it heads for a (pounds) 200,000 deficit.

Mr Sheridan, list MSP for Glasgow, and Rosemary Byrne, list MSP for the South of Scotland, have each borrowed (pounds) 39,000, secured against their parliamentary salaries, to make inroads into the party's debt.
