KENNY SHIELS, manager of Kilmarnock, enjoyed a happy homecoming as his new-look side beat Champions League qualifiers Linfield in the opening game of their tour of Northern Ireland.

Shiels handed debuts to three of his six signings during an entertaining friendly and also gave Ben Hutchinson, the former Celtic striker, the chance to impress as a trialist. Rory McKeown, formerly of Ipswich Town, also appeared as a trialist and may sign in the coming days.
