THE Sighthill tower blocks north of the M8 in Glasgow have made headlines for all the wrong reasons for the past three years - racial tensions over the area's use for asylum seekers, deprivation, even a pollution scare that emerged from its industrial past.

To some residents, however, the 2400 multi-storey flats are a village in the sky - and they fear it is going to be brought crashing to the ground.
