THE Picanto is the latest serving from Kia. It is a city car and as such falls into the ever-increasing sector that includes the likes of the Twingo, Alto, Lupo and Arosa. None of these names is likely to be coupled with anything other than a dainty spoonful of automotive invention.

However, Picanto has an interestingly-Italian sound about it, and on a few occasions I have prefixed its name with Fiat. But an Italian job it is not - this diminutive shopping basket of a car is in fact a product of Korea.
