HIGH street retailer JJB Sports became the latest company to warn of tough trading conditions yesterday and revealed it was going back to basics to help lure shoppers into its stores.

Profits at the group were slashed by a third as consumers tightened their belts, forcing rival stores to enter a fierce price war. Sluggish demand and competitive pricing has prompted JJB's decision to refocus on sporting goods and clothing.
