A CAR crash is all it takes to cast up a backlog of sense memories for the two troubled sisters in Georgina Bell's quirkily touching new play for the freshly constituted Axis Performance company, who seem to have been born of the unlikely auspices of creative personnel attached to Edinburgh International Science Festival.

May is a peaches and cream princess who breezes into her job as a radio presenter much as she swept through school without a care. In her shadow follows her quizzical younger sibling Clare, a would-be actress and necessary barmaid whose time is spent serving Archie, the Tom Weir-like figure who is the main attraction on her big sister's show. Feeling left out in the cold in such a fashion, the thin ice Clare skates on as she tries to find her place in the world and an outlet for all those voices inside her, eventually, inevitably cracks.
