INTERNAL critics of John Swinney's leadership of the SNP should go off and join the Scottish Socialists, according to Michael Russell, a former shadow minister and party chief executive.

Writing in The Herald today, he says: "Those who will always noisily demand an instant short cut to Utopia - the Alex Neils and others who thrive on internal and external political warfare - might also be happier working with, or as part of, the SSP freed of the pragmatic majority of their own party and the pragmatic demands of the majority of Scots."
