THREE British soldiers from The 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers died after they were attacked on patrol near Sangin in Helmand Province yesterday morning, the Ministry of Defence said.

Their deaths bring the total number of British losses to 204 servicemen and women since operations began in 2001. The fatalities added to the UK death toll which had already exceeded the 200 mark on Saturday when a soldier from The 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh died of his injuries at a hospital in Britain.
