ELECTION watchdogs are to monitor the Scottish Socialist party's finances for a year after a GBP17,000 hole was found in its bookkeeping and accounts were filed five months late.

The Electoral Commission said the SSP, which has six MSPs, had agreed to a yearlong programme of work to minimise the risk of breaking the law in future.
