SCOTLAND is making a renewed bid to bring the Sudirman Cup, the world mixed team badminton championships, to Glasgow.

A 10-strong delegation leaves today for Jakarta, where they will make their pitch on Sunday. It is headed by Badminton-scotland chief executive Anne Smillie, David Williams, chief executive of EventScotland and his major events consultant Paul Bush, and staff of Glasgow City Council whose national academy at Scotstoun will host the event if successful.
