A SUPER-fast rail ink between Glasgow and Edinburgh could be built as part of plans to extend a high-speed network to Scotland, Government agency Transport Scotland has said.

The new connection, which experts believe could reduce journey times to less than half an hour, would see Scotland's two biggest cities become a "single economic entity" and transform their potential to attract jobs, tourism and inward investment.
