DESPITE a fall in the overall average at Saturday's annual sale of pedigree Suffolk ram lambs at Ingliston, near Edinburgh, trade was regarded by most vendors as being satisfactory, especially with significantly more sheep changing hands.

Irish breeders from both the north and south were major players throughout the six-hour sale, which saw 220 rams average pounds- 2564 - down by pounds-447 on last year when 179 were sold.
