THE Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were attacked by protesters last night as mass demonstrations to coincide with the vote on university tuition fees at Westminster descended into widespread vandalism and violence.

Prince Charles and Camilla felt the full brunt of protesters' anger when their car was struck and daubed in paint as they made their way to the Royal Variety Performance in central London.
