ON taking over the captaincy of the British & Lions, Gareth Thomas last night told his men that the only way to gain retribution for the way Brian O'Driscoll has been forced out of the tour was to beat New Zealand's All Blacks fair and square.

The tour party is in serious danger of being thrown into disarray after a weekend that saw Danny Grewcock banned for two months for biting an opponent, following a first Test hammering and the loss of tour captain O'Driscoll in a hugely controversial incident.
