POLICE and firefighters were last night alerted after a suspicious powder was discovered at a post box in India Street, one of Edinburgh's most prestigious addresses.
A Lothian and Borders Fire Brigade spokeswoman said a hazard area had been cordoned off in India Street and Heriot Row as firefighters in chemical protection suits examined white powder found in a postbox.
