Scotland's unbeaten record at this year's tournament was halted in spectacular fashion yesterday morning when Canada, the only other unbeaten team, swept Warwick Smith's men aside in just six ends to record a 6-2 win.

However, the Scots recovered later with their own clinical performance, this time beating Germany's Andi Kapp 7-4 to keep themselves well in medal contention.
