MARION JONES' Olympics ended in humiliating, medal-less disaster last night. The woman who captured three titles and five medals in the Atlanta Games finished fifth in the long jump and then was instrumental in America's failure to get the baton round in the sprint relay.

After three attempts to pass it to Lauryn Williams, the US team ran out of the second change-over zone, and did not finish.
