Summary
The Curriculum for Excellence, due to be introduced to Scottish Schools in August, is designed to integrate learning and reinforce essential skills across different subjects. It has been widely welcomed as a way of raising falling standards but as a radical change in Scottish education was bound to be regarded with some suspicion, particularly by specialist teachers.
